Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on aligning deeper layers of muscles. It is used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the strokes are the same as those used in our classic Swedish massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).

Pregnancy Massage

We offer labor stimulation massage sessions to women who are 39 weeks and beyond, for whom no medical condition exists that would make labor stimulation inadvisable. A great choice for those unaccustomed to massage and wonderful variation for those who are regulars, this hot rock massage, utilizes smooth, soft stones, hand picked from the shores of Santa Cruz California. The stones are use to break muscle spasms with heat. This, coupled with the application of gentle, gliding strokes, eases tension and stress.

This unique treatment will balance and bring harmony to the mind, body and spirit. Using hot and cold rocks in massage, aromatherapy, semiprecious stones and Reiki. It is tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.

Bamboo Massage

This technique works in a very similar way to Hot stones. Hands are used to work over the muscles and the Bamboo cane is used to focus on knots. Muscles relax to a deeper level when the cane is warmed.The bamboo cane replaces the therapist's hands, and is able to give a deeper, firmer massage. The muscle is then kneaded, which assists in the release of tension and easing of knots.

Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hand with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques, with a premise that such work effects a physical change to the body.

Reiki and Chakra Balancing

Reiki is a Japanese technique used for stress reduction and relaxation that is also known to promote healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. This session incorporates the use of crystals and aromatherapy as you are guided through a contemplative meditation leaving you with a feeling of deep relaxation and bliss.
